More events and a five foot bear!

One of my paintings is in the Burton at Bideford! I'm delighted that 'In Between Dreams' was selected to be exhibited as part of the Westward Ho! and Bideford Art Society 100th Annual Open Exhibition.

It's a fantastic show and there's still time to see it - the last day is Sunday 28 August

Another thing to be very excited about - I am one of the 25 North Devon artists to be selected to paint a five foot bear statue to help raise funds for Children's Hospice South West.

Once finished, the bears will be part of a 'Bear Hunt' art sculpture trail in and around North Devon.

"The bears on the trail aren't just beautiful pieces of artwork created by some of the most celebrated local artists, they represent the care that our hospices offer families - they are 'bears to care'."

To keep updated on the progress of my bear follow my Instagram and/or Facebook accounts. A video of the entire painting process will also be updated to my Amy Jobes Art YouTube channel once complete!

And finally, a date for your diaries - I will be opening my studio up to the public as part of Devon Open Studios between 10 and 25 September. There are plenty of renowned artists taking part this year including Yvonne Coomber, Jane Pine and Ann Blockley.

Other events happening simultaneously include North Devon Food Fest on Sunday 11 September, the Appledore Book Festival Fringe from 15 – 25 September, Baggy Point Outdoor Cinema (Croyde), showing the Endless Summer II on Friday 16 September, and the Big Saunton Beach clean on Sunday 11 September.

366 artists are exhibiting at 213 venues for this year’s Devon Open Studios from 10 to 25 September. Visitors will be able to see artists’ work, watch demonstrations and take part in activities.

Guides will be available from community venues, libraries and tourist information offices in early August. More information on my open days can be found on my open studios profile devonopenstudios.co.uk

Thanks for reading - sending warm wishes to each and every one of you
