Autumn Update

"Autumn...the year's last, loveliest smile" ~ John Howard Bryant

'Eternal Wishes', currently available from Echo Beach Gallery

It feels like we have only just packed away our camping gear, the canvas just about dried and recovered from the onset of squalling wind and driving sheets of rain it endured as we huddled together in August, playing Dobble on a valley top in Porthtowan in Cornwall.

And here we are already, the last quarter of the year galloping towards Christmas in the most impressive sprint yet.

But you will perhaps be relieved that this is not a festive newsletter from me. I am still very much hanging onto the gold of the leaves outdoors before I focus on the glitter of a Christmas tree.

In this Autumn update are some dates for your diaries, and a bit of a catch up on some of the new things I have made a start on this year.

Time to put the kettle on for a comforting hot drink, light a scented candle and maybe even wrap yourself in a thick, soft blanket...enjoy! xx

Echo Beach Gallery

After a flurry of sales over the summer, the lovely Echo Beach Gallery in Ilfracombe now has a new selection of my original paintings.

They are like windows to the coast, full of energy and emotion. All beautifully framed and ready to bring the awesome expansiveness of the North Devon beaches into your home.

"By immersing myself in the stunning beauty of the coastline and its ever-changing moods, I feel a sense of deep peace and tranquility that is hard to describe in words. Through my art, I strive to capture this other-worldly essence of my local beaches"

If you would like more information about any of these pieces, please contact Echo Beach Gallery directly.

Wave 7 Gallery

It's a great pleasure to announce that I now have a collection of paintings in Wave 7 Gallery in Wadebridge, Cornwall. Some pieces are still at the framers and online updates are in progress. More to follow on this!

Connect & Create Fest

A date for your diaries! I will be showing a selection of works, greetings cards and prints at North Devon's most vibrant event for independent businesses.

Connect & Create Fest really is a feast for the senses, with great food, music and so many creative gift ideas. Sunday 17 December from 10am until 4pm.

I will be sharing a booth filled with wonders with two of my Rising Tide Sisters, Emma Johnson and Josie Grant. We look forward to seeing you there!

Colour Friday

Join Colour Friday on 24th November

It’s shocking that as a nation we’re still spending…

  • £12.3 billion on Black Friday with businesses like Amazon

  • Despite the fact that 80% of it ends up in landfill, is incinerated or is recycled poorly

  • And nearly 60% of UK small businesses fear closure in the coming year

This year we all have a chance to buy gifts with soul, made with love and integrity and support real people and their families. To find out more visit Holly & Co.

Look out for my COLOUR FRIDAY offerings next week!

Oil Painting Workshop

There are just a few places left on my next 'Introduction to Oil Painting' workshop at Studio Kind in Braunton! The date is 26 November 2023, and the workshop runs for 5 hours, from 10.30am to 3.30pm. I will guide you step-by-step to create a finished seascape in oil, even if you are a complete beginner. Bookings are via the Studio Kind EventBrite page.
