'Through This Iron Sky'

However, high quality prints are available from The Frame Shop in Braunton
This piece is a view of Saunton Beach, North Devon, viewed from the parking bays along the road to Croyde. It was a cold day in January and the sky was absolutely incredible.
We didn't venture onto the beach that day, but a few minutes being blasted by the wind and watching the light trying to break through the clouds was incredibly refreshing.
The whole scene looked metallic, as if it were created from iron and steel.
Lyrics from the song 'Iron Sky' by Paolo Nutini inspired the name of this painting.
'And we’ll rise
Through this iron sky that’s fast becoming our mind
Over fear and into freedom
