Day 6 - Workspace
I've been marvelling at the bright, beautiful and amazingly (unbelievably) tidy workspaces of the other creatives who are taking part in 'Meet the Maker' on Instagram. Inspiring stuff!
I can't say that my studio is quite so aesthetic, although I do have the excuse that I'm currently in between spaces, so I haven't made a huge amount of effort with it yet. We moved into our house only 8 months ago and have planning for a garden studio! Can't wait to make that happen.
For now I work in our office room upstairs, on a trestle table which I also use for shows. The chair is a pretty painted wooden penny chair given to me by my Dad.
Thinking about it, my desk would look a lot better with some leafy plants. Know any that are hardy enough to withstand paint splatters?! I'm a really messy painter so always lay down newsletter and have kitchen roll at hand.
As oil paints take a while to dry it's useful to have a workspace that's away from little hands. Looking forward to some drier weather too as I'll be working on some bigger canvases out in the garden. Can't wait for better weather!
