Take it easy
Go with the flow
Trust everything will be OK
Take a break
Be kind to yourself
All these things I'm so good at saying to other people. But there are times when I should really take my own advice!
It's the last day of a busy half term. Both myself and the kids have been battling a cough, and now my youngest is poorly again.
There hasn't been much energy left for oil painting over the past couple of weeks.
But I'm trying to be kind to myself, finding another way to keep creating that doesn't require so much time, planning or effort.
It doesn't create as much mess either!
I've been painting acrylic ink manta rays. Quite often out in the sunshine in my garden. It's been really rejuvenating!
Inspired by a moving and vivid dream I had over the summer, I found out that the manta ray is a totem animal. It represents smooth journey.
By keeping a likeness of it near, you will gain extra strength.
I'm planning to do a whole series of these little paintings. Some will be for sale in shops in Braunton, North Devon. Others will be available on my website.
Although I have to publish my shop page first!
New oil paintings will come in time, once I've recharged again.

On a very positive note I watched an incredibly inspiring video this week on the future of fuel.
A carbon neutral fuel which is compatible with any vehicle has been developed in British Columbia.
That includes airplanes! It has made me feel very positive about our future.
It has also reminded my inner activist to take a deep breath, and trust that everything will be OK.
Watch the video here: How CO2 could be the future of fuel
Have a lovely week!
